The moment Ashlee put on her dress there were ‘gasps’ from all in the room. As you can see from the pictures, the dress was made for her. She looked like she was from the pages of a bridal magazine. The fit, the detail, the train, Ashlee looked incredible.
Vaughn looked smart in his grey suit and brown leather shoes, complete with a cute smile. From the moment I started the shoot there was laughter, ‘ballet socks’ and sharing of stories (the cuff links were a gift from royalty). A sweet card from Ashlee was handed to Vaughn, which was a perfect moment to capture before he went to meet his bride.
We were greeted by the friendly faces of Vaughn’s sister and nephew at the entry to St Mary’s Cathedral, Darwin. Father Chedier Mloka led an animated service with the addition of “show everyone your rings” (I felt like the words of Beyonce should be in the background). I haven’t seen this done in a service before, it made everyone smile.
The reception followed, at the beautiful botanic gardens. It was a gorgeous day, complete with a vibrant bridal party and some unique location backdrops.
